FOX BOARD a complete Linux system on a small board
FOX is a ready to use Linux embedded system made by Acme Systems to help the system integrators to reduce the development costs and time to market of their projects of internet embedded devices
The FOX Board |
FOX is a very small size board (just 66 x 72 mm) based on the ETRAX LX100 MCM 4+16 made by Axis, the world leader on network cameras and printer servers.
FOX is useful either as a stand alone device for network applications like micro web server, proxy, router, etc. or as a socket module to integrate in your own application board.
Become a FOX reseller: Acme Systems is currently looking for resellers for the FOX board. To find out more, please send an email to reseller@ and one of our representatives will contact you. |

Extension sockets
On either side of the Fox board it is possible to solder two 20x2 pin strip connectors step 2.54mm (0.1") to put the Fox over an application board or move signals to another board using normal 40 pin flat cables.
A lot of peripherals can be connected to the Fox using this signals:
- Up to 2 parallel ports or 1 wide parallel port(*)
- Up to 4 IDE ports (8 peripherals)(*)
- Up to 2 SCSI ports or 1 wide SCSI port (*)
- An I2C bus
- Up to 62 general purpose I/O (*)
- Up to 3 asynch serial ports (*)(**)

Extension socket lines Complete pinout reference |
(*) Not all interfaces on the extension sockets can be used at the same time. The peripheral signals configuration depends on Kernel setup and line assignments. (**) The serial ports on Axis are four: 1 asynchronus port is already used as console (/dev/ttyS0) and is not available on the extension sockets but only on the console connector J10, 1 other port (/dev/ttyS1) can be enabled disabling the USB1 port, the other 2 ports are completely available (/dev/tty2 and /dev/tty3). One of these can be configured also as RS485 or synchronous.
