Brigitte starrs as Shao Hua, a writer whose husband Neng Tsai played by Chin Han is an employee of the Japanese during the Japanese Occupation. Brigitte and Maggie (as Yue Feng) are best friends in the film and it was a display of a deep, warm and beautiful friendship. Maggie and her lover died whilst attending an anti-government meeting. A beautiful loving scene at the balcony where Brigitte cover herself and Chin Han with her scarf. Brigitte tried to escape from China together with Chin Han but unfortunately she has only 1 ticket. She passes the only ticket to the unknowing Chin Han as she knows that Chin Han cannot exist in China from the vengeful Chinese who has been ill-treated by the Japanese. Many years later, Chin Han came back to China to look for Brigitte but it was too late.
