谓语用单数还是复数？

一、表示“许多、大量”的词组分类与区别如下：

1、只能修饰可数名词的词语有:
many,  many a(n),   a good / great many,  a (great / large) number of,  scores of,   dozens of等。

2、只能修饰不可数名词的词语有:
much,   a great deal of,  a great / large amount of,  great / large amounts of
3、既能修饰可数名词又能修饰不可数名词的词语有:
a lot of,lots of,plenty of(以上三个词语后谓语动词的单、复数依of 后的名词的单、复数而定),

a great / large quantity of (其后谓语依of 后的名词的单、复数而定),

quantities of (其后谓语用复数)。

a number of+可数名词复数  ：是指“大量的”,谓语用复数形式 the number of+可数名词复数：是指“......的数量”，谓语用单数形式

A number of our classmates love English.

1、a large quantity of +可数名词复数或不可数名词，谓语看of后名词的具体情况而采用单数或复数形式

a..如果是接不可数名词，则谓语用单数形式；

b.如果是接复数可数名词，则谓语通常要采用复数形式（※偶而接单数式谓语，属非规范用法，宜慎用。）

2、quantities of+可数名词复数或不可数名词，谓语都要用复数

 The number of our classmates is 45.

quantities of 后既可接复数可数名词，亦可接不可数名词,后面的谓语都用复数形式。

many a（很多） ；more than one（比…多/不只一个）(加基数词one）

1.many a 或more than one +可数名词单数，谓语用单数

2.more+复数名词+than  one结构之后，谓语动词一般用复数形式。

3.more than one 直接作主语时，谓语用复数

例：More than one are there  不止一个人在那里

Many a woman has great influence on her husband许多女人对丈夫有很大影响

Many a student studies English

More than one student studies English

1、a large quantity of +可数名词复数或不可数名词，谓语看of后名词的具体情况而采用单数或复数形式

a..如果是接不可数名词，则谓语用单数形式；

b.如果是接复数可数名词，则谓语通常要采用复数形式（※偶而接单数式谓语，属非规范用法，宜慎用。）

2、quantities of+可数名词复数或不可数名词，谓语都要用复数

a large/great amount of ＋不可数名词，作主语时,谓语动词一般用单数

quantities of 后既可接复数可数名词，亦可接不可数名词,后面的谓语都用复数形式。

one  and  a  half后加复数名词，谓语动词用单数。

One and a half apples is on the table

large/great amounts of ＋不可数名词，作主语时，谓语动词要用复数。
A large amount of(A great deal of)damage was done in a very short time.
Large amounts of money were spent on the bridge。

巧记kind句型的谓语：以of为分界线，谓语随of前的单词的单、复数变化

1、this kind of book ═ a book of this kind （这种书），其谓语动词用单数；

2、this kind of books═ books of this kind═ these kind of books（口语）（这类书）

3、all/these kinds of books各种各样的书

但this kind of books作主语时，谓语动词用单数；

books of this kind 和these kind of books作主语时，谓语动词用复数；

all/these kinds of 后跟复数名词，谓语动词用复数形式。如：
This kind of books is very popular with young people.  这类书很受年轻人欢迎。
Books of this kind are very popular with young people. 这类书很受年轻人欢迎。
These kind of parties are dangerous.                    这类政党很危险。
All kinds of flowers have come out in the valley.     山谷里各种各样的花已竞相开放。

4、this  kind  of  men谓语动词与kind一致，用单数形式;

5、men  of  this  kind谓语动词与men一致，用复数形式；

6、these kind of men的谓语动词用复数

7、all kinds of后跟复数名词，谓语动词用复数形式

Men  of  this  kind  are  dangerous.
