Teaching objectives:

 

1.     To learn to tell experiences happened in the past.

 

2.     To recognize there is no ghost in the world.

 

Teaching aids:

 

a recorder and some courseware  

 

Teaching procedures:

 

Step 1. Revision

 

     Discuss whether there is a ghost in the world, starting with the following questions and show the slide with a horrible picture:

 

1. Are there any ghosts in the world?

 

 2. Are you afraid of ghosts?

 

3. Do you like reading Ghost Story?

 

Step 2.   Reading  

 

     1. Explain the context.

 

        Last Sunday, Millie and Amy heard a ‘ghost’ in   Sunshine   Park  . They told Daniel their story. Daniel put the story on his website. Please listen to the story.

 

      

 

2. Answer this question:

 

      What was the ghost in this story?

 

   3. Words understanding.

 

   4. Complete Part B1 on page 63.

 

  Step 3.Practice

 

1.Read the story aloud and complete Part C1 on page 64.

 

      2. Read aloud the story in chorus, fill in the form.

 

      3. Read the text for a third time and fill in the blanks.

 

      4. Read the text, and put the sentences into the right order?

 

    Step 4.Activity

 

      Try to retell the story

 

      Keywords and phrases:

 

chat/ a whisper/bush/nothing/ frightened/ run away/ run into sb/ tell/search/ weak/

 

show/ surprised/ later that day/ animal centre/ take care of/not afraid any more

 

 Homework

 

1.Try to remember all the new words and new phrases  

 

2. Read the story at least 3 times.

 

3. Do some exercises.

 

教学反思:

 

    本节课我在备课的过程中,我对教材进行了一定的加工,根据文章涉及的具体信息,延深、扩展了教材的内容。课堂活动围绕“The ghost in the park”展开,环环相扣,在阅读中让学生欣赏到成功的喜悦,激发了学生的兴趣,提高学生的阅读能力。同时让学生自主创设情境,操练语言文化知识。但是我对课堂的整体设计不够严密,整个课堂并未出现我所期待的亮点。由于本节课的阅读量较大,相对应的活动就比较多,造成了时间搭配不够合理,导致最后的比较阅读和discussion没有能够拓展和延伸开来,没有能够很好地达到学以致用,交流情感的目的。
