In recent years, students attach less importance to Chinese study. Although some people's ideas have adjusted to change , someone have not realized the importance of Chinese study. On the contrast, more and more students, especially under eighteen, pay much attention to foreign languages. There may be several reasons account for why this situation could happen . First of all, people in growing numbers are beginning to believe that learning foreign languages contributes directly to enhancing their job opportunities or promotion opportunities. So, they may not treasure Chinese language any longer. Second, schools have no strict demand on students’ Chinese standard. Last but not least, a suitable yet complicated factor , justified that the globalization forces students to adjust to the huge change that they should master another foreign language . In the wake of this situation, Chinese language becomes less and less popular in universities. Students will make growing Chinese mistakes in spelling and speaking. In view of this situation, effective measures should be taken to change it. To begin with , colleges and universities should make exams more balanced, not simply emphasizing the importance of foreign languages. Furthermore, we must raise awareness that the study of Chinese, After all, Chinese is our mother tongue.
