18th Century Meissen

Here we have the most collected porcelain maker in the world. The factory at Meissen was founded after Boettger made the first true hard paste porcelain outside of China. Meissen has become what it is today because of the early support of August the Strong who suffered from the porcelain sickness (which I have as well). Meissen porcelain started in about 1710 and in the early years it was the other makers that followed their lead until Sevres took over. In the 18th century the main people besides Boettger were Johann Gregor Hoeroldt who made the most amazing chinoserie paintings, then Johann Friedrich Kaendler who made the models of most figurines, Friedrich Elias Meyer (also a sculptor), Michael Victor Acier who was probably the reason Kaendler left Meissen, and lastly Count Marcolini who influenced the factory from 1774 until 1814 known as the Marcolini period.
