驕傲的人，走起路來，常常也是神氣巴拉。
(24) as good as gold:
好得像黃金。就是行為好，守規則 (well-behaved) 多半指小孩。
例如：
This child makes no trouble; he is as good as gold.
這孩子，不鬧事，行為很好。
The fact proves that your son is always as good as gold.
事實證明你的兒子品行十分優良。
(25) as graceful as a swan:
像天鵝般的美好。這指跳舞美妙的動作 (one's beautiful movement)
例如：
Having been a good dancer for years, Mary is as graceful as a swan.
多年來，Mary是位優秀的舞蹈家，她的舞姿美麗動人。
有時也可用複數:
We always enjoy the ballet; the dancers are as graceful as swans.
我們一向喜歡芭蕾舞；他們舞姿非常優美。
(26) as sober as a judge:
像法官那樣冷靜、清醒、莊嚴，不酗酒 (calm, solemn, clear mind & not drinking)
例如：
Mr. Wang always seems as sober as a judge.
王先生一向頭腦清醒，鎮靜嚴肅。
也可用複數：
Many Chinese take things more seriously; sometimes they are as sober as judges.
許多老中對事情非常正經嚴肅。
(27) as gentle as a lamb:
像綿羊般的溫順。指十分溫和的人或動物 (very gentle person or animal)
例如：
Mr. A does not make a fuss; he is as gentle as a lamb.
A先生不愛爭吵抱怨，他是十分溫和的人。
With his pleasing personality, Bob is as gentle as a lamb.
Bob 有令人賞心的性格；他像溫順的綿羊。
如用複數：
Many scholars seem to be as gentle as lambs, but sometimes they are not.
許多學者看來似乎很溫順，但有時不是那樣。
(28) as hot as Hades:
像地獄那麼熱。多指溫度高，很熱 (heat or high temperature)
(Hades 是陰間或地獄，據說很熱 = hell )
例如：
Under the sun all afternoon, Bob's face (cheek) is as hot as Hades.
Bob 整個下午晒太陽，他的臉發熱。
The weather being as hot as Hades, the fruit in the sun will be spoiled.
天氣這麼熱，在太陽下的水果將會爛掉。
(29) as light as a feather:
像羽毛那麼輕。多半指重量很輕的東西。(something with little weight)
例如：
To Bob, a fifty-pound box would be as light as a feather.
對Bob來說，五十磅的箱子是很輕的。
有時也指瘦小的人：
With the over-emphasis on weight loss, Mary is as light as a feather.
由於過份強調減胖，Mary十分瘦小。
(這與 as light as air 意思相似。)
(30) as loud as thunder:
聲大如雷。也就是指聲音很大。
例如：
The rock-and roll music next door was as loud as thunder.
隔壁搖滾樂聲音太大。
Many passersby stared at the group of Chinese talking as loud as thunder in the park.
許多過路人瞪著眼看著一群老中在公園裡大聲談話。
(31) as stubborn as a mule:
像騾子般的頑固。指人很固執，不肯讓步。(據說騾子很頑強，即是打牠，也不肯動)
例如：
Mr. C believes in Taiwan independence; he has been as stubborn as a mule.
C先生深信台獨，他非常固執，不肯讓步。
Politicians should listen to the views of their people; they should not be as stubborn as mules.
政客應該聽聽民眾的看法，不要過份頑固。
(32) as old as the hills:
像小山羊那麼古老。這通常是指一個故事，人人皆知，很古老陳舊。(hills 多用複數)
例如：
Don't tell us the same story; that is as old as the hills.
不要告訴我們同樣的故事；那是很古老的。
有時也指年齡：
I am no spring chicken; I am as old as the hills.
我不是年輕人；我已老了。
如有人問你幾歲，而你不願告訴年齡，也可說：I am as old as dirt. (I am no spring chicken = I am not a spring chicken)
