I just listened to the recording. While the pronunciation is quite good, I did detect a fairly strong accent on this recording. I might also suggest that the speaker read over the text several times before recording - it sounded to me as if the speaker was reading it for the first time, and not quite certain what each next word might be. I would rank it maybe an 8. More people live in cities. But many cities make life worse. How can cities make life better? On its surface, Expo 2010 Shanghai is about dazzling technologies, dynamic design, and glorious culture. But what lies beneath? Does Expo's meaning reveal Shanghai's mission? I've come to Shanghai to search for meaning in Expo--the greatest gathering of countries, cities and organizations in history –at the very moment when China has become the second largest economic power on earth. Expo theme? Bettter City, Better Life! |
