updated 02:00 pm EDT, Wed July 6, 2011Eedoo iSec console to be sold in China this fallPC maker Lenovo, through its Eedoo games subsidiary, will begin selling a home entertainment console called iSec in China, a company spokesperson said this week. This news is significant, as the Chinese government has a ban on the sale of games consoles in place and the Lenovo spokesperson hasn't said whether the company's planned product somehow isn't covered by this law or if it has permission to sell it. The iSec console will rely on a gesture-control system similar in concept to Microsoft's Kinect add-on for the Xbox 360. The Xbox 360 and Kinect, as well as other consoles including Sony's PS3 and Nintendo's Wii, have been banned from China since 2000 after parents pressured the government.
