above all      “首先”、“最重要的是”、“尤其”、“特别”。用于强调语气，指在诸多因素、

                  情况中“特别是······”。

 

     1) In choosing the curtains for a room you should considered the material from the point of

          view of texture, its weight, its pattern, but its color above all.

        （在选择房间窗帘时，你应该从质地、重量、式样，特别颜色来考虑选择材料。

     2) Fashionable clothes place emphasis on comfort, style and above all freedom from the

        conventions.

        （时髦的服装强的是舒适、式样，尤其是要不受传统的约束。

 

after all    “毕竟”、“终究”，用于表示强调语气。

 

    1）But slanders, after all, cannot conceal the true state of affairs.
