My reading sentiment of <Gulliver’s Travels>Nowadays I read a book named <Gulliver’s Travels>, which tells us four unimaginable story of travelling. There are four countries, Lilliput, Brobdingnag, Laputa, Houyhnhnms, which is really different from others. Neither the location nor the citizens, as a matter of fact, they liked four poles in the earth. During the travelling, Gulliver suffered a lot, however, opportunity sometimes following the pain so you see finally Gulliver also picked up his own belongings. I like this book, it’s so interesting that I can’t help reading for twice. And I loved the first story most for there are many sentences which are filled with writer’s personal emotions. For example, “Good behavior is very important in this country. When a man is looking for work his behavior is more important than his ability. It is believed that a wellbehaved man will be able to do any kind of work. If he happens to make a mistake, it will be an honest mistake. It will not hurt anybody. But a clever yet badly-behaved man will be a danger to everybody.” In this paragraph, what the writer did want to tell us is not the special law in Lilliput but the wish to his own country. Writer is unsatisfied with his own country so that he wrote this story to emphasize the important of good behavior. For another, he said “They don’t study how to pass examinations. Instead, they learn all about how to be good and they learn to love their country.” I think, through all these sentences, we can image a great man who loved his mother land deeply and he wished his mother land to be the best in the world. However, fact always against imagination so comes the book<Gulliver’s Travels>. I like the book for the writer’s deepest love of his mother land; the great characteristic of the writer, also the well imagination. |
