One who has never tasted what is bitter does not know what is sweet.
未尝苦味，焉知甘甜之乐。／未经一番寒彻骨，哪得梅花扑鼻香。

As the saying goes, “One who has never tasted what is bitter does not know what is sweet.” Success comes only with hard work and labor. The tougher the road, the sweeter the taste of success. Only those who have suffered hardships know the real meaning and joy of success.
