作表语:通常与系动词be,get,grow,become,feel,appear,prove,seem,look,keep,smell,

taste,sound,turn,remain等连用。

如:Ourclassroomisclean.Theweatherisgettingcoolerandcooler.3.作宾补:如:Thenewsmadeeveryonehappy.4.

如:Therichandthepoorliveverydifferentlives.5. Shestaredintothedistance,speechlessforamoment.1. 作表语,如:Oneofthetyresisdown.3. Onemywayhome,Isawanoldladysittingunderatreealone.4.IsawMrsGreenoutwithherhusband.5. 如pickout(挑选),turnup(三)容易出错的几个注意点1. 另外,unable,content(满足的),all(身体)好的,ill(生病的),通常不可用作定语;ill"坏的,邪恶的"意思。 afraid,alive,alone,awake可用作后置定语,如amanafraid(害怕的人),thegreatestmanalive(健在的最伟大的人)theonlychildawake(唯一醒着的孩子)Thepeople,andthepeoplealone,arethemotiveforceinthemakingofworldhistory.

Thetableismadeofwood.

这类形容词常见的有:possible,improbable,convenient,inconvenient等"人"是可以的,如Heisimpossibletoteach.=Itisimpossibletoteachhim.

5.early,late,fast,high,straight6.

Weoftengotothepark..Heisalwaysreadytohelpothers.

IrememberthatImethimsomewhere.Everythingwentsmoothly.

4)

Hemadehismodelplaneperfectlythereyesterday.

Peoplehereareveryfriendlytome.

如friendly,comradely,lively,lovely,lonely,likely,deadly,silly,orderly

两者相比(A=B),用"as++as"表示2.

ZhangHuaisthetallestofthethree.Heworks(the)hardestinhisclass. Ilovenothingbetterthanswimming.(=Iloveswimmingbest.)Ihaveneverseenasoldacarasthis.(=ThisistheoldestcarI''veeverseen.)(3)最高级可以被序数词以及much,byfar,nearly,almost,bynomeans,notquite,notreally,nothinglike

时,用"倍数+as…as"或"倍数+比较级+than"两种结构。 4)表示size,weight,length,width,height等的倍数,用"倍数+the(size,weight…)+of…"结构。5)even,still,much,far,any

7)nomorethan=only或as…as只有,仅仅notmorethan=atmost至多,不超过8)nolessthan有… Wevisitedsomefriends,andspentthe_____daysattheseaside.(NMET95)A.fewlastsunnyB.lastfewsunnyC.lastsunnyfewD.fewsunnylast⑵Canyoubelievethatin______arichcountrythereshouldbe_____manypoorpeople?(同上)A.such,suchB.such,soC.so,soD.so,suchWaittillyouaremore______,It''sbettertobesurethansorry.(NMET97)A.inspiredB.satisfiedC.calmD.certain⑷ProfessorWhitehaswrittensomeshortstories,butheis_____knownforhisplays.(NMET98)A.thebestB.moreC.betterD.themost⑸____totakethisadventurecoursewillcertainlylearnalotofusefulskills.(NMET2000)A.BraveenoughstudentsB.EnoughbravestudentsC.StudentsbraveenoughD.Studentsenoughbrave⑹It''salwaysdifficultbeinginaforeigncountry,_____ifyoudon''tspeakthelanguage.A.extremelyB.naturallyC.basicallyD.especially(同上)Johnplaysfootball_____,ifnotbetterthan,David.(NMET94)A.aswellB.aswellasC.sowellD.sowellas⑻Weallwrite______,evenwhenthere''snotmuchtosay.(同上)A.nowandthenB.byandbyC.stepbystepD.moreorless⑼_____I''dlike_____informationaboutthemanagementofyourhotel,please._____Well,youcouldhave_____wordwiththemanager.Hemightbehelpful.(NMET95)A.some,aB.an,someC.some,someD.an,a⑽Ifweworkwithastrongwill,wecanovercomeanydifficulty,____greatitis.(同上)A.whatB.howC.howeverD.whateverWedecidednottoclimbthemountainsbecauseitwasraining____.(NMET96)A.badlyB.hardlyC.stronglyD.heavily⑿Howbeautifullyshesings!Ihaveneverheard_____.(同上)A.thebettervoiceB.agoodvoiceC.thebestvoiceD.abettervoiceInthatcase,thereisnothingyoucando____thanwait.(NMET2001北京内蒙安微春季)A.moreB.otherC.betterD.any⒁Iamsurprisedthatyoushouldhavebeenfooledbysucha(an)____trick.(同上)A.ordinaryB.easyC.smartD.simple_____rolesheplayedinthefilm!NowondershehaswonanOscar.(NMET2002上海春季)A.HowinterestingB.HowaninterestingC.WhatinterestingD.WhataninterestingThemagazineisa(n)_____number.Youcantakeitoutofthereading-room.(同上)A.backB.pastC.oldD.formerItisgoodforelderlypeopletobe_____involvedincommunityservice.(同上)A.honestlyB.patientlyC.eagerlyD.activelyAllenhadtocallataxibecausetheboxwas_____tocarryallthewayhome.(NMET2003)A.muchtooheavyB.toomuchheavyC.heavytoomuchD.tooheavymuch⒆____I''mvery______withmyowncooking.Itlooksniceandsmellsdelicious.(NMET2002A.pleasant,pleasedB.pleased,pleased北京内蒙安微春季)C.pleasant,pleasantD.pleased,pleasant⒇Two-middleagedpassengersfellintothesea._______,neitherofthemcouldswim.A.InfactB.LuckilyC.UnfortunatelyD.Naturally答案:1-5BBDCC6-10DBAAC11-15DDBDD16-20ADADC(二)巩固练习1.Therearemany_____computersinthedepartmentstore.A.lastB.laterC.latestD.latter2."HaveyoueverbeentoParis?""Yes,I''ve_____beenthere."A.onceB.everC.almostD.nearly3.Heuseshiscar_____forgoinghunting.A.mostlyB.mostC.almostD.nearly4.Theplaneflew_____intheskyandthepeoplespoke____oftheexperiencedpilot.A.highly;highlyB.high;highC.high;highlyD.highly;high5.Themore____weunite,thestrongerwebecome.A.closeB.closelyC.closedD.closedly6.Hugginsdoestheworkwith_____care.A.bigB.veryC.muchD.great7.It''s_____thatwe''dbettergoforawalk.A.soabeautifulnightB.suchbeautifulanightC.sobeautifulanightD.anightsobeautiful8.TheMississippiRiverislongerthan_____intheU.S.A.A.anyriverB.anyotherriversC.anyotherriverD.alltherivers9.Heissoillthat_____hopeisleft.A.alittleB.littleC.afewD.few10.Thebusesrunevery____minutes.A.otherB.manyC.afewD.few11.____foodisbetterthannone.A.AnyB.LittleC.AlittleD.Every12."Whatdoyouthinkoftheheadmaster''saddress?""Iliked____ofwhathesaid."A.moreB.severalC.manyD.much13.Tomis_____hisheight.A.ratherthinastoB.toothinforC.sothinforD.verythinof14."Janewasquiteunfriendly.""Ithinkshe''s_____thanunfriendly."A.shyerB.shierC.moreshyratherD.moreshy15."Thiscakeisdelicious.""Well,atleastit''s______theoneIbakedlastweek."A.asworseasB.asbetterthanC.noworsethanD.notbetteras16.Harrytreatshissecretarybadly.Heseemstothinksheisthe____personintheoffice.A.lessimportantB.leaseimportantC.notmoreimportantD.notmostimportant17."It''snever_____tolearn."Means"Youcannotbe_____oldtolearn."A.lateenough;veryB.late;soC.toolate;tooD.verylate;only18.Heknew_____littleFrenchthathecouldn''tmakehimselfunderstood.A.soB.suchC.tooD.very19."Jimseemstolikethiscountry.""Yesheis_____hereashewasathome."A.almostashappyB.ashappyalmostC.asalmosthappyD.almosthappyas20.Sheisolderthan_____thereyears.A.meforB.IambyC.IforD.meby21.Ithinkit''s_____forwalking.A.verymuchhotB.muchveryhotC.toomuchhotD.muchtoohot22.I''msuresheexpectedtobeback_____.A.beforelongnowB.nowlongbeforeC.longbeforenowD.nowbeforelong23.John''srecordwas____ontheteam.A.notsogoodasalltheplayersB.notsogoodasanyplayersC.notsogoodasanyotherplayersD.notsogoodasthatplayers24.Theyare____toarriveintime.A.possibleB.impossibleC.likelyD.like25.Whichoneiscorrect?A.TherewardisworthyB.ThatworkisworthyofdoingC.ThisquestionisworthytoconsiderD.Thereisnothingworthyofbeingmentioned26.Wearestudying______booksnow.A.threephysicsverydifficultB.verydifficultthreephysicsC.verythreedifficultphysicsD.threeverydifficultphysics27.Shehasa_____stamp.A.greensquarev 6.withcare用作状语,care的修饰词可用special,great,more等。 15.noworsethanasgood/deliciousas(并不比… 51."alotmoreexciting…than…"比…更令人兴奋得多,alot=much52. 53."morelike…than""更象… Itdoesn''tmatterthough.77.silent有"沉默""不表态"之意;quietcalm(情绪)镇定,平静;speechless未发言,不讲话,说不出话来。78."moreof"意为"在更大程度上",又如She''smoreofasingerthananurse.80.
