Top 5 Comparison Shopping Engines for Canada

Many Canadians seem to be using Comparison Shopping Engines to search for the best price in Canada for the intended product they wish to purchase.

Price conscious consumers in Canada are seeing an increased number of Comparison Shopping sites that are making much easier to save by locating the best deal online and offline.

What’s so important about a Canadian Shopping Search Engine ?

Back in the early days of the Internet, product comparison wasn’t easy since not many shopping websites were discovered yet. We had to rely on discovering those online sites that offered the best price by continuously using search engines. It’s not longer the case now in 2011 where you have many sites available to help you choose. Shopping engines not only help you get the best price but also increase trust and confidence by showing you reviews of popular shopping destinations. Canadians love shopping and love from retailers in Canada. Why?

  • No duty fees
  • Pay in Canadian Dollars
  • Easy Return Shipping

#1: Canada Post Comparison Shopper

Comparison Shopper was recently launched by Canada Post. It provides trusted insights to help Canadians make smarter online shopping and in-store shopping decisions. One thing that I like about this site is the fact that it is owned by a trusted brand “Canada Post”. Not to forget that it is owned by the Government of Canada. This truly helps you ensure that any site being displayed in search results have been selected carefully. I like the way they display retailers in the shopping grid. They show you which ones currently use Canada Post as their shipping carrier and what type of services they offer such as free shipping, customer support, return policy and much more. The site is also available in French and includes some US retailers. They offer FTP feed management for retailers.

#2: ShopBot – Price Comparison

Price Comparison by Shopbot is a great tool for shopping from Canadian Sites. They offer FTP feed management for retailers. I think they can do a better job at advertising deals currently offered by retail sites. Overall, the site is kind of boring and needs more energy. Shopping must be fun experience!

#3: Shop To It – Canadian Deals

I remember wanting to add my website to Shop To It and they said I must offer a way for people to display Canadian Currency pricing on my products in order to be eligible. Upon launching that feature, I was listed. They offer FTP feed management for retailers. I remember seeing Shop to It at Search Engines Strategies conference in Toronto many years ago. They were among the first ones to enter the market and dedicated to the online shopping world.

#4: Wishabi - Advanced Comparison Shopping in Canada

They offer FTP feed management for retailers. One thing to point out about Wishabi is that they syndicate many of their listings to other sites. For example, if you are on Wishabi, you will also have your products showing up on Canada Post Shopper.

#5: PriceCanada Shop Canadian

They offer FTP feed management for retailers. This site is great but needs a lot more work. They are owned by the bargains deal site for Canadians RedFlagDeals.com. Visit PriceCanada.com. This site needs to be improved in order to see great ROI. I currently use them but there aren’t many sales coming from them. I hope Yellow Pages who acquired Red Flag Deals will invest some money in this channel or else it will die soon.
Shopping engines truly increase traffic to your website. Make sure to optimize your feeds and monitor the traffic. You don’t want to pay for traffic that doesn’t convert. It’s all about ROI!
