QC Export Wizard cannot continue at Step 5 of 8

Summary:

In the process of exporting data from an Excel file to QC using Excel Add-in, the Export Wizard cannot go forward when choosing any options at Quality Center Export Wizard - Step 5 of 8 and clicking Next.

The issue is due to the QC user not having write permission on the folder :/Program Files/Microsoft Office/Office/XLStart.

Problem

In the process of exporting data from an Excel file to Quality Center (QC) using the Excel Add-in, the Export Wizard cannot proceed when choosing any of the following options at 'Quality Center Export Wizard - Step 5 of 8' and clicking Next:

1. Type a new map name.

2. Create a temporary map.

Cause

The Windows user does not have the write permission on the folder :/Program Files/Microsoft Office/Office/XLStart.

The write permission on the folder is required as the creation of a map will write data into the folder.

Fix

Grant write permissions for the Windows user on the folder:

C:/Program Files/Microsoft Office/Office/XLStart
