NEW DELHI, Aug. 16 (Xinhua) -- Indian President Pranab Mukherjee has expressed hope that "progress" made by India and Pakistan in bilateral dialogue will help in realizing the goal of peace and progress of the two countries, according to Press Trust of India Thursday.
In a message to his Pakistani counterpart Asif Ali Zardari on their Independence Day which fell on Tuesday, he said, "It gives me pleasure to note the progress in bilateral dialogue, a reflection of the strong desire of our people for peace and harmony."
India and Pakistan have resumed regular ministerial meetings on bilateral relations in various fields for more than one year, after an interruption of two years due to the 2008 Mumbai attacks.
