A+P Consultants (Singapore) has completed the landscape design for the Block C9 at Upper East Site in Beijing China.
Block C9 (Andersen Garden Residence)is one of the most exciting and innovative blocks in the Upper East Site development with its distinctive landmark architecture ,this development has created a new public realm environment of real quality in the area.
It's different from other residential blocks.C9 is a mixed-use development .The development includes flats, office space, retail units , a café, a public courtyard and private residents' gardens.
At the core of the development is the courtyard at the ground level. Around the courtyard, series retail shops open onto this space. The courtyard is enclosed by three statuesque buildings designed by Denish architect , SHL. Responding to the distinctive architecture, the innovative landscape design provides communal focus and private gardens for the residents at different levels.
The main public space, while being a means of access and a place to sit and play for the shoppers and residents, is also a rich verdant space to look down from the flats above.
As the garden was above on underground car park, the detail design involved ordination with engineers and drainage specialists to determine the most suitable drainage system and the loading capabilities of the roof top in terms of soil depths.
