Dual-booting (multiple booting) isn’t unheard of within the Android community, so far, it has been a complicated process that only the devs have been able to pull off. That’s about to change for Google’s Nexus 7 tablet, thanks to XDA Developer ‘Tasssadar’ and his new mod for the Nexus 7 called MultiROM. It not only helps boot multiple Android ROMs on your Nexus 7, you can also boot the popular Linux distro Ubuntu! More on how to install this amazing mod for the Nexus 7 after the break!

This magnificent mod works by flashing the MultiROM mod in the recovery, and then flashing the modified recovery provided by the developer in fastboot mode. After that, it’s a simple process to follow, you can multi boot any ROMs for the Nexus 7. There are no reported bugs as of yet, and the only limitation of the mod so far is not being able to boot ROMs from the USB storage at the moment. The developer has stated that he’s working on adding USB stroage boot support in future updates.

Even though this mod will not erase/wipe your data, it is wise to backup your important data before installing this mod on your device in case something goes wrong. Now that you’ve done that, let’s see what else you’d need install this mod.
