Rename %windir%\winsxS\Policies (or delete it) then reinstall .NET.

then stop all the services through msconfig.
reboot

reinstall .net framework 2 3 or later.. your requirement.
my sugestion keep always a handy backup of your server or machine.
This should work.
--------------------------- I kept having this problem, also had Automatic Updates for .Net 1.1 that wouldn't install. Kept trying all the solutions suggested in these forums. Finally, I uninstalled .Net 4.0 and all the 1.1 and 2.0a setups
started running OKAY for me. Also was able to get all the windows
updates for those versions to download and install. Will re-install 4.0
after all the updates are done. |
