JAKARTA, July 5 (Xinhua) -- Yuanwang-5, China's latest generation of
all-around space tracking ship, arrived at Tanjung Priok Port here Friday for a
seven-day in-port rest and replenishment.
During the stay, Yuanwang-5 is
scheduled to focus on material replenishment and equipment maintenance after
successfully accomplished its tracking missions for space rendezvous and docking
test of spaceship Shenzhou-10 and space lab Tiangong-1, China's first space
station module.
This is the second time for Yuanwang-5 space tracking
ship to berth at Tanjung Priok Port, Indonesia's largest sea port. Yuanwang-5,
with two Chinese former astronauts Zhai Zhigang and Nie Haisheng, had visited
Indonesia in 2010 to enhance cooperation on space technology between China and
Indonesia.
The 220 meter-long ship with more than 300 crew members on
board displaces 25,000 tons and is set to continue its tracking missions after
the replenishment.
The Yuanwang-5 ship, which commenced its operation in
2008, has carried out a series of successful maritime measurement, control and
communication tasks for China's second moon orbiter Chang'e-2 and Shenzhou
serial spaceships.
