Report: Huawei, model of co-operation between gov't andbusinessThe Network Security Assessment Center operated by Huawei in the United Kingdom issafe and effective, maintaining sufficient independence from its headquarters in China,according to a report released by the U.K. Cabinet Office.
The report shows that Shenzhen-based Huawei, the leading global information andcommunication technology solution provider, has achieved its defined goals and can beregarded as a model of government-business cooperation.
It is understood that some British media had questioned Huawei's business practices, andsome members of Parliament had also raised objections. They even linked Huawei'soperations with "espionage" and asked the government to investigate the company.
In June, the Intelligence and Security Committee of Parliament released a report whichformally requested the government to conduct close scrutiny over telecommunicationsproducts belonging to foreign companies, in order to effectively rule out network securitythreats.
