The Chinese folk song Little Running Water has attracted a lot of attention
recently.
It was performed on Tuesday during the evening art show for the fourth Summit
of Conference on Interaction and Confidence-Building Measures in Asia in
Shanghai.
The song, also known as the oriental serenade, was sung by the Shanghai-based
East China Normal University choir.
Twenty male students and 28 female students were selected to participate in
Tuesday's art show.
They prepared for nine days to deliver a high-level performance.
"I was very tired during rehearsals and also sacrificed a lot of time to
rest. But I still feel very honored to have the chance to perform on the same
stage with so many top performance groups," said a student surnamed Yuan.
Consisting of about 80 students studying various majors, the university choir
is well-known for its high performance standard and has won many international
and domestic awards.
