Fudan and Shanghai Jiao Tong universities have agreed to provide content to the United Kingdom-based massive open online course platform FutureLearn.com. The schools signed deals with the website on Monday during Premier Li Keqiang's visit to the UK. Under the agreement, Fudan University will upload its courses on traditional Chinese culture. Vice president Lu Fang said the university is "willing to share our best courses with learners from all over the world." In return, the Chinese university will incorporate some of the English-language courses available on the UK website into its own curriculum, he said. Jiao Tong University, meanwhile, said it will negotiate with FutureLearn on the exchange of courses between the UK site and its own online platform cnmooc.org. Huang Zhen, vice president, said the deal will provide a new channel for learning and communication for Chinese and British students. FutureLearn is just one of many open learning websites operating around the world. Last year, Fudan and Shanghai Jiao Tong agreed to upload content to the United States-based platform Coursera.
