SINGAPORE, Aug. 7 -- With the number of Ebola cases continues to increase globally, theMinistry of Health (MOH) in Singapore said it will take additional precautionary measuresfor the deadly virus from Thursday.
While reiterating that Ebola poses a low public health risk to Singapore, the ministry said ithas been closely monitoring the Ebola situation in West Africa countries including Guinea,Liberia, Sierra Leone and Nigeria.
MOH said it will work with the Civil Aviation Authority of Singapore (CAAS), theImmigration and Checkpoints Authority (ICA) and the Changi Airport Group (CAG) todistribute individual health advisory notices to nationals from the affected areas from 2p.m. local time on Aug 7.
The notices advise travellers, who have been in any of the affected areas within threeweeks, to see a doctor as soon as possible if they develop sudden onset of high fever,stomach pains, diarrhoea, vomiting, rash or bleeding.
Some 932 deaths caused by the virus of Ebola have been reported by the World HealthOrganization (W.H.O.) as of Monday.
