Shanghai stocks continued to decline today, losing 1.34 percent to 2187.67
points. Turnover was 137.31 billion yuan($22.3 billion). Blues chips went on
decreasing, a trend that has prevailed in the week.
Coal shares led today's decliners, as new policies were issued yesterday to
reduce restrictions in the market, an indication that the industry has passed
its golden period, according to analysts.
Anyuan Coal Industry lost 7.32 percent to 5.19 yuan, while Shanxi Antai Group
was down 6.19 percent to 3.18 yuan.
Brokerage shares joined the declining pack. As the trial on the lawsuit
launched by 61 investors against Everbright Securities on its trading glitch
last year, the company's shares went down 3.21 percent to 9.04 yuan.
