Ebola Hemorrhagic Fever has been listed as a quarantinable disease as the country's health authorities pass harsher port inspections for people and goods entering from affected areas.

All Chinese ports of entry will carry out stricter quarantine measures, said the National Health and Family Planning Commission (NHFPC) in a statement published on its website on Friday.

People, vehicles, goods and mail from infected areas will be thoroughly inspected, said the NHFPC.

Those suspected to be infected with Ebola virus will be isolated and infected corpses will be cremated, it said.

Special objects, animals and region-specific products from infected areas are forbidden to enter China, the NHFPC said.

High-risk ports of entry will be closed if the epidemic worsens and threatens China. Also, exit inspection will be tightened if Ebola spreads in China.

The NHFPC stressed that people from affected countries should take regular test of body temperature and go to the hospital if they develop symptoms. Overseas students from infected regions should take a 21-day medical observation under the administration of their university.

As of present, China reports no case of the disease.
