 “he + 定语从句”在谚语中的应用

                                                佳中 

   “he + 定语从句”是一特殊的结构。在这一结构中he 泛指人，后接定

语从句修饰之，在习语、谚语、俚语中不乏使用这一结构的佳句。列举如下：

1）He laughs best who laughs last.

谁笑到最后，谁笑得最好。

2）He who can suppress a moment's anger may prevent a day of sorrow.

     忍得一时怒，免去一天苦。

　  3）He knows most who speaks least.

            大智若愚。

      4）He who has a mind to beat his dog will easily find his stick.

欲加之罪，何患无辞。

     5）He who learns but does not think is lost. He who thinks but does not learn 

            is in great danger.　

学而不思则罔，思而不学则殆。 

  6）He who does not advance loses ground.

    逆水行舟，不进则退。

     7）He who makes no mistakes makes nothing.

          想不犯错误，就一事无成。

     8）He who makes constant complaint gets little compassion.

           经常诉苦，没人同情。

     9）He who swells in prosperity will sick in adversity.　

           得意忘形者要遭殃。

   10）He who has a lazy hand has an empty mouth.

           手懒饿肚皮。

   11）He that will not work shall not eat.

           不劳者不得食。

    12）He that climbs high falls heavily.

            爬得越高，摔得越重。

    13）He that is of the opinion money will do everything may well be suspected of 

           doing everything for money.

           相信金钱万能的人，往往会一切为了金钱。

   14）He who peeps through a hole may see what will vex him.

           偷窥者会看到使自己烦恼的事。
