Next Monday marks three years since China placed its Tiangong-1 space station
in orbit. Ahead of the anniversary, an official from China's manned space
program, the China Manned Space Engineering Office said that the space station
is in good condition. He added that it has provided valuable lessons for China's
manned space station program.
So far, Shenzhou spacecraft have docked with the space station six times and
carried out a set of scientific and technological experiments. The official also
said that China is reaching a "critical stage" in other space projects such as
the Tiangong-two space laboratory, Tianzhou cargo spaceship and Long March seven
carrier rocket. Meanwhile, the Hainan Wenchang Satellite Launch Center is nearly
complete and ready to enter service.
