HEFEI, Nov. 16 -- Traffic accidents caused by heavy fog in east China's Anhui Provincehave killed two people and injured several others, local traffic police said.
Rear-end collisions involving seven tractor trailers and three sedans occurred near theLu'an City exit of the Yeji-Lu'an expressway at around 7:30 a.m. on Sunday, traffic policefrom the city said.
Heavy fog reduced visibility to less than 50 meters, causing the collisions and trappingseveral passengers. Two of them died at the site after being rescued, said rescuer BaoChen.
Others injured were sent to the hospital. The expressway was closed nearly five hoursafter the incident.
