白天看到星星的时刻

　　One star is closer than the rest.

　　有一颗星星比其它星星都近。

　　It is not the biggest star.

　　它不是最大的星星。

　　But it looks big because it is so near.

　　但是它看起来很大因为它很近。

　　We feel its heat.

　　我们能感觉到它的热量。

　　This star is the sun.

　　这颗星星就是太阳。

　　Without the sun, no plants could grow.

　　没有太阳任何植物都不能生长。

　　In the day the sun is so bright we cannot see other stars.

　　白天，太阳太亮以至于我们看不到其它星星。

　　But they are there just the same.

　　但是他们一样地在那儿。

　　Can you ever see stars in the day? 

　　你们曾在白天看到过星星吗? 

　　Yes!  

　　对!  

　　Sometimes the moon blocks out the light from the sun.

　　偶尔月亮会挡住来自太阳的光.

　　This is called an eclipse.

　　这被称作日食。

　　(You say it like this: ee-clips.)

　　(像这样来读它——ee-clips)

　　There are special ways to look at an eclipse without hurting your eyes.

　　有几个特殊的方法来看日食而不会伤害你的眼睛。

　　During an eclipse, the day gets darker and colder.

　　日食期间，白天会变暗变冷。

　　The stars come out.

　　星星会出现。

　　And some animals go to sleep.

　　有些动物会去睡觉。

　　They think it is night.

　　他们以为那是夜晚。

　　But in a few minutes, the moon moves.

　　但是几分钟之后，月亮移动。

　　The sun comes back out.

　　太阳重新出现。

　　It's day again!  

　　又变成白天!
