Battle For The Airfield - WWII Re-enactment and Veteran Roundtable - The Collings Foundation

Will the Allied troops be able to gain control of the airfield? Can they further their advancement? Battle for the Airfield is an educational living history event you will never forget.

WHAT: The Collings Foundation is hosting a WWII reenactment and WWII Veterans round-table discussion October 10th and 11th. There will be over 300 re-enactors representing several branches of Allied and Axis military participating in an amazing re-enactment. Fully restored military equipment of all kinds will be on display and participating in an incredible living history event. This includes, tanks, cannons, troop carriers, half tracks, aircraft and support supplies. Allied and Axis camps were set up with authentic materials and appearance. People are encouraged to interact with re-enactors who share a wealth of information about life as a WWII military person. WWII Veterans from all ranks and branches of service will participate in a round-table discussion. Each veteran will spend time talking about his and her experiences of survival and perseverance during WWII.

WHERE: The Battle for the Airfield WWII reenactment and Veterans round-table will be held at the Foundation’s Headquarters: 137 Barton Road, Stow MA. For a detailed map see below. **Due to the apple picking traffic – We recommend coming in via main street, Hudson. Suggested donation at gate is $20 for adults and $10 for children. No reservations needed to attend. On location parking subject to close if at capacity. We recommend arriving one hour prior to each reenactment. Fly a reconnaissance mission over the battlefield! We will be offering rides in a legendary WWII aircraft! 20-minute Stearman flights are $200 (aircraft originally used as Tuskegee Airman trainer). WHEN: The Battle for the Airfield WWII reenactment takes place October 10th and 11th, There will be two battles per day; 11:00 AM and again at 3:00 PM. Grounds open 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM both days. Veterans round-table discussion will start at 1:00 PM. Battle outcomes may change from one day to the next.
