TheRearchforPreparationandPerformancesof BMIResinCBNPrecisionWhetstone WANLong,ZHANGGuo—wei,HUWei—da,LIUXiao—pan,ZHANGHong一1ei (CollegeofMaterialsScienceandEngineering,HunanUniv,Changsha.Hunan410082.China) Abstract:BMIresinsolutionsynthesizedbyusingBMIresinandthesolventofacetonewasmixedwith CBNabrasiveinproperproportiontoprepareslurry,andthenthewhetstonewaspreparedwiththe processofcasting,acetoneevaporatingandresincuring.Thebestdosageoftheacetonewasanalyzedwith themicrostructureofthewhetstone.Experimentresultshaveshownthat,whenthecontentofacetoneis under16.9,theCBNabrasiveisnotwell— distributedintheBMIresin.However,whenthecontentof acetoneiS23.4, 29.0,theCBNabrasivedistributesuniformly.Nevertheless,asthecontentoface— tonewasupto33.8%,theCBNabrasivedepositsintheBMIresin.Inaddition.whenthecontentoface— toneis23.4andtheBMIresincontentisintheregionof79/6, 169/6,theflexurestrengthandhardness ofthewhetstonearereinforcedwiththeincreaseofthecontentofBMIresin.IfthecontentofBMIresiniS beyond16,itisdifficulttovolatilizetheacetoneastheviscosityofslurriesincreases,whichresultsin theincreaseoftheporosityandthedecreaseoftheflexuralstrengthandthehardnessofthewhetstone.
