It’s an imaginary world where Instagram logos grow out of the earth. Brooklyn-based illustrator Rachel Ryle (@rachelryle) used stop-motion animation to make this remix. “The story I wanted to convey was that from the old grows the new,” says the artist, who put hundreds of photos, seven hours of drawing, moving and coloring, and a cup of good old-fashioned dirt into her piece. “The final result of my work even surprises me sometimes, as I never fully know what it’s going to look like until the end.”
