Floods left 161 dead, 123 missing across 10 provin...

China's Ministry of Civil Affairs has said that as of Sunday, at least 161 people have been killed and 123 were missing after widespread floods and intense rains ravaged the country's northern provinces.

The ministry also said the disaster affected more than 14 million people across ten provinces. It also estimates the floods have caused economic losses of 25 billion yuan, or 3.7 billion US dollars, including inundating over 1-million hectares of crops, and destroying more than 100-thousand houses and other structures. The provinces of Hebei, Henan, and Shanxi are the areas worst-hit by the disaster.
