score的详细用法

score意为二十，它与dozen, hundred, thousand, million等词一样，前面有确定数字时，不加s，但 可以与介词of连用（用于修饰代词时，不可省略； 另外，只有在一些以score计数的货品名称前才 用），但hundred, thousand和million前面 有确定 数词时，不能跟of短语。没有确定数词时加s及of表 示许许多多。

dozen的意思是“一打”“十二个”，score的意思 是“二十”，它们在用法上具有以下共同特点，使 用时需注意： 1. 与具体数字连用时，不加复数词尾 –s；若后接名 词，通常也无需用介词of。如： I’d like three dozen altogether. 我想一共要3打。 He has lived here for two score years. 他已在这 儿住了40年。 偶尔也可见到受具体数字修饰的dozen, score后接 of，但惯用法认为省略 of则常见。

2. 若不与具体数字连用，而是表示不确定的泛指数时， 则不仅要加复数词尾 -s, 而且要后接介词of，然后才能 接名词。如： There were dozens of people there. 那里有许多人。 I have heard of that scores of times. 那件事我已听 过很多遍了。 3. 当与a few, several, many等数目不很具体的词连用 时，带不带复数词尾 -s均可，但是注意：若不带复数词 -s，其后的介词of可以省略；若带复数词尾-s，则其后 介词of不能省略。如： several dozen(s) of eggs=several dozen eggs 几打鸡蛋 several dozen (of) pencils= several dozens of pencils 几打铅笔

4. 若其后的名词受the, these, those等特指限定词的 修饰，或其后接的是us, them 这样的人称代词时， 则此时必须用介词of。如： a dozen of his friends 他的一打朋友 two dozen of them 它们中的两打 three score of these eggs 这些鸡蛋中的60只
