We've all heard this advice before, from parents, teachers, friends, etc. Set goals if you want to be successful. But how many of us actually do it? Far too few. 我们都听过同样的建议，从父母、从老师、从朋友那里等等。如果你想成功，就先设立目标。但是我们当中又有多少人真的会去做呢？——真的太少太少了。
One problem I see is people setting unrealistically high goals. This is influenced in part by the marketing we receive -- 'Just 5 minutes a day, and you can watch American TV series without subtitles!' Just like Hollywood sets unrealistic standards of beauty, these website advertisements set unrealistic expectations for learning English. 就我所知的一个问题就是，人们总是设置了很不现实的大目标。这是由于我们受到了商业的部分影响所导致——“一天只要花5分钟，你就能轻松脱离字幕看美剧”！这就比好莱坞电影总是去设定一个很脱离实际的美女标准一样，这些网站的广告也是设定了很脱离实际的英语学习目标。
Anyone who tells you you can become fluent in 5 minutes a day is a bald-faced liar. So what are some more 'realistic' English goals?

1) Practice speaking English 30 minutes a week with a native speaker.
