1. Western astrology freeware.

Important Note: While almost all free astrology programs lack a time-change atlas, and therefore require users to look up time changes elsewhere, the following three programs actually do have time-change atlases built in, and therefore are the best free astrology programs available.

The Freeware Astrology For Windows 3.0 is one of the only free astrology programs with a time-change atlas built in and an interface in 15 languages. It also offers composite charts, natal and transit reports, and an 8000 year ephemeris. You can download Astrology for Windowshere.

Similarly, Starfisher is an open-source free astrology program that also has a built-in time-change atlas, and an interface in 5 languages. You can read my short write-up here, and go to the Starfisher website to download the latest version here.

Planetdance is a surprisingly powerful free astrology program for both the Windows and Android platforms, with Quick*Chart importing, all of the basic charts available, and many additional features. Version 6 now has a full time-change atlas for the World. Learn more about it here, and download it here.

Free Astrological Icons: While an internet search for icons for astrology reveals a large number of results, I found a set of 207 bitmapped astrology icons that are outstanding. They were created by an anonymous Russian author and you can download them by clicking here.

ZET Lite is an incredibly powerful free program. It is quite challenging to use, but has more capabilities than any other free software. Click here to download it.

Here's a cute little program called StarLove that calculates the compatibility between two charts. To download it, click here.

A free program Morinus -- recently updated to version 8.1.0 -- for Linux, Windows, and the MacOS is devoted to Tradional Astrology, including the calculation of Primary Directions. The original site discussing it is here, and you can download the latest version here.

The Mayan Aztec Astrology Program creates a Mayan horoscopes. (Note: you will need to follow the program's instructions carefully to get accurate results) Click here to download it.

2. Vedic astrology freeware.
