考研英语翻译试题中，倒装结构是常见的考点。接下来小编（太阳城考研1号编者）带着你，一起来学习考研英语中倒装结构的翻译技巧。 英语最基本的语序是主语在前，谓语动词在后。但有时由于句子结构的需要或表示强调，就要采用倒装形式。将谓语动词完全移到主语之前称为完全倒装，只将助动词或情态动词放到主语之前称为部分倒装。强调性倒装和以so, neither, nor开头的句子应予以高度重视。（如果你对于倒装结构这一语法有任何疑问，可访问本头条号上篇文章“考研英语语法------倒装结构”一文予以学习） 由于英语重形合，有形态变化，语序相对灵活一些，而汉语重意合，缺乏形态变化，语序相对比较固定，因此把英语的倒装句翻译成汉语时，则应本着尊重汉语习惯以及正确传达英语语义的原则，将句子理顺（按照正常语序，将倒装后的句子还原）： 一、翻译为让步状语从句 As，though引导的倒装句型为：名词（前不加a或an）/形容词/副词 as 主语 谓语，该结构可用(al)though引导的让步状语从句来替换，译为“虽然”或“尽管”。 Child as／though she is, she knows how to please others. 尽管她还是个孩子，但是她却知道如何取悦他人。 二、翻译为条件状语从句 将only adv.句型中的一些句子和虚拟条件句省略if的倒装句可以翻译为条件状语从句。 Only in this way, can you learn English well. 只有这样，你才能学好英语。 Only after being asked three times did he come to the meeting. 叫了三次，他才来参加会议。 三、翻译为时间状语从句 可以将not until引起的倒装句翻译为时间状语从句。 Not until the child fell asleep did the mother leave the room. 母亲一直到孩子入睡后离开房间。 No sooner had she gone out than a student came to visit her. 她刚出门，就有个学生来访。 Not until the jet engine had come into use could planes travel at supersonic speeds．直到使用喷气发动机之后，飞机才能以超音速飞行。 【真题回顾】 例句1：Especially significant was his view of freedom, which, for him, was associated with the rights and responsibilities of the individual: he advocated freedom of thought and of personal expression.（2014年考研英语（一）真题49题） 分析：本句为完全倒装，主句的主干是his view of freedom was especially significant。his view of freedom后为which引导的非限定性定语从句，修饰freedom，关系代词which在定语从句中作主语。of the individual修饰the rights and responsibilities，冒号后进行解释说明。 译文：尤为重要的是贝多芬对于自由的看法，他认为，这种自由是与个人的权利和责任联系起来的：他倡导思想自由和个人言论自由。 例句2： Odd though it sounds, cosmic inflation is a scientifically plausible consequence of some respected ideas in elementary particle physics, and many astrophysicists have been convinced for the better part of a decade that it is true.（1998年考研英语（一）真题翻译第75题） 分析：该句是复合句，odd though it sounds是一倒装句，正常语序为though it sounds odd，其中it指代cosmic inflation，介词短语in elementary particle physics修饰ideas，that it is true在句中作convinced的宾语，另一介词短语for the better part of a decade作状语表示时间。 译文：宇宙膨胀说虽然听似奇特，但它是基本粒子物理学中一些公认的理论在科学上看来可信的推论。许多天体物理学家七、八年来一直认为这一论说是正确的。 例句3：Americans no longer expect public figures, whether in speech or in writing, to command the English with skill and gift. Nor do they aspire to such command themselves.（2005年考研英语（一）真题阅读Text 4） 分析：该句是由nor引导的并列句。whether in speech or in writing的完整形式是whether they are in speech or in writing，表示让步；介词短语with skill and gift在句中作状语修饰动词command. 译文：美国人不再期望公众人物在演讲或写作之时可以娴熟地运用技巧和文采来驾驭英语，而公众人物自己也不渴望这样。 |
