一、问题在段首或是小标题

如果问题在段首或是小标题，通常是考查主题。认真阅读下文内容，根据段落一致性的原则，查找同义词或其他相关的词，推断出主题。关注每段首尾句，了解大意。方法是:分析选项关键词是否与原文、段落主旨吻合。排除过于宽泛、以偏概全、偏离主题的干扰项。七选五文章通常分为若干小段落，各段落会根据整体文章写作主题展开，对文章主题进行不同方面的描述。因此，解题时，应在有限的时间内对文章进行快速浏览，抓住文章结构及主要内容。另外，还可以通过句式结构来判断，例如祈使句类的短句，肯定或否定的陈述句。

二、问题在段中

如果问题在段中，要细读备选项，巧用与文章相对应的线索词。解题时，应重点阅读备选项和文章空白处的上下文，圈定文章中的线索词，明确试题考查要素，结合选项中的关键词，形成重要的选择依据。此时，有的混淆选项干扰性较大，可能出现只能与空格前一句连贯或后一句连贯的现象。
