In 'Beyond Beauty: Taiwan From Above', we saw the beauty and sorrow of Taiwan from an altitude never reached. Our intimate homeland has somehow become unfamiliar in the film: we were shocked but delighted. There was suddenly the epiphany - how informed are we of this 'most intimate stranger'?
More than a thousand days has passed, and now Po-lin Chi takes off to the sky again, taking us to view the ever-pretty but constantly mourning Taiwan. He even reaches further this time: Japan, China, New Zealand and Malaysia, so that we are awakened by the fact that the whole world and Taiwan share the same oceans and air: no one can sit on the sidelines.
