No Raise 加薪无望

Anna:  May I come in?

安娜：我可以进来吗？

Manager:  Come in, please.

经理：请进。

Anna:  I'm sorry to trouble you, but I'd like to ask when I will get a raise.

安娜：对不起，打扰您了，但我想问一下我什么时候才能得到加薪。

Manager:  In three months or so.

经理：大概过三个月左右吧。

Anna:  You said the same thing; three months ago.

安娜：三个月前您就这么说了。

Manager: Did I? Well, anyway, you'll get your raise when the economy starts picking up.

Anna:  You mean I won't get a raise until the recession ends?
