现实世界的英语表达可不像美剧里那样直接，甚至比中国人说话更加注重礼貌而委婉的表达。 只会excuse me和thank you肯定是万万不够的。 当提出request时：不礼貌：Pick me up on your way to the party this evening. 礼貌：I was hoping you could give me a lift to the party. 当我们提出建议、请求时，让自己的英语更加礼貌而且不要那么直接有两种方法： 第一，使用过去进行时 I was wondering if you could 第二，换成反义疑问句的说法 例如： You couldn’t give me a lift later, could you? I don’t suppose you could pick me up tonight, could you? 当Giving Opinions时：不礼貌：You are too young to get married. 礼貌：I reckon you’re a little young. 在给出建议时有3种办法使得英语更加委婉： 第一，加上Reckon/feel/guess等词 第二，加上Sort of/kind of/a little bit等模糊表达的词 第三，用否定疑问句来表达 例如：Aren’t you kind of young to be getting married? 当指出错误时：不礼貌：You’ve made a mistake in this report 礼貌：You seem to have made a mistake here. 当指出别人甚至自己的错误时，加上seem/appear可以更加委婉 例如： You appear to have saved over all my documents. I seem to have lost those reports you wated. 如何拒绝别人的邀请：不礼貌：No, I’m not coming to your party this evening. 礼貌：I’m not sure I’ll be able to make it to your party this evening. 用Tentative language 去代替no It’s looking unlikely I’ll be able to come this evening. 或者I'm not sure... 别天真得以为对方是真的不确定能不能来哦，这就是一张好人牌而已啦 |
