想当年,菊花还只是一种花……

但今天,给大家分享的菊花,不仅仅是花。

“菊花”从何而来

The name "chrysanthemum" is derived from the Ancient Greek:

chrys (gold)andanthemon (flower).

"chrysanthemum" [krɪ'sænθəməm]来自于古希腊语。

They are native toAsia and northeastern Europe.

菊花源于亚洲和东欧。

Chrysanthemum plays a significant role and symbolismacross many cultures around the globe.

菊花在全球许多文化中扮演着重要的角色和象征意义。

In Europe, chrysanthemum symbolizesdeathand in Asia, it is a symbol of love & cheerfulness(depending on the color of the flower).

在欧洲,菊花象征着死亡,在亚洲它是爱与快乐的象征(取决于花的颜色)。

In China, they hold an annual chrysanthemum festivalin Tongxiang, near Hangzhou as well as an ancient town (Xiaolan Town of Zhongshan City) whose nickname is Ju-Cheng, which means “chrysanthemum city”.

在中国,杭州附近的桐乡和中国古镇(中山市小榄镇)每年都会举办菊花。小榄镇,又称“菊城”,意为“菊花之城”。

In Japan, chrysanthemum is a symbol of the Emperor and theImperial Family.

在日本,菊花是君主皇室的象征。

Chrysanthemum is used to treat chest pain, high blood pressure, type 2 diabetes, fever, cold, headache and dizziness.

Chrysanthemum are boiled into a sweet tea, known in China as“Juhuacha”. It is meant to have a cooling effect on warm days. It is used to treat fevers and and isused as a quick healing method after a flu episode.

菊花被煮成一种甜茶,在中国称为菊花茶。这茶能清热降暑,治疗发烧,是流感后恢复的快速良方。

Be careful, Dutch chrysanthemumsare only meant fordecorativeuse and cannot be eaten.

值得注意的是,荷兰菊只用于装饰,不能吃。

Chrysanthemum "Bran" is made of chrysanthemum and sugar. Usually people heat dried chrysanthemum petal, sugar and little water together into a paste, then cool it. They then smashit into pieces. This is a basic ingredient in other chrysanthemum food.

“菊花糠”由菊花和糖制成。 通常人们将菊花花瓣,糖和少许水一起加热成糊状,然后冷却,再把花瓣粉碎。这是其他菊花美食的基本材料。

Chrysanthemum "meat" is not actually the meat of chrysanthemum, but fat pork. Usually the crystal fat pork cured together with chrysanthemum "Bran" and plenty of sugar.

“菊花肉”其实不是菊花的肉,而是猪肉。人们通常把水晶肥猪肉,菊花糠和大量的糖一起加工处理。

Chrysanthemum glue pudding is glue pudding with chrysanthemum "Bran" and red bean paste as filling. It is often served in chrysanthemum soup.

Xiaolan deep-fried fish ball enjoys a high reputation not only for the chrysanthemum used as side dishes but also for the delicious Zhongshan-growndace.The cooking way of deep-fried fish ball can be traced back to ancient time. The ball is made of fish meat that has been finely pulverizedwith different spices. After deep-fry, it often goes with edible chrysanthemum and raw cabbage leaves. If eaten withclam sauce,the fish ball will be more unique in taste.

小榄炸鱼以美味闻名,不仅以菊花为配菜,还有中山鲮鱼为主要原料。炸鱼球的烹饪方式可以追溯到古代。鱼球是用鱼肉,混合不同的香料精细粉碎制成的。油炸后,经常配以食用菊和生白菜叶食用。如果用蛤蜊酱吃,鱼球的味道会更加独特。
