Following anhtu96 idea, it seems you can install the 14.4 driver plus the 15.11.1 CCC if you disable Win10 autoupdate for the AMD driver. Everything works fine, ULPS enabled, fast boot. However, anhtu96 steps were applicable to HP notebooks only (I have a Sammy), so I tried to replicate it using only generic AMD driver files and it worked for me. My steps:
1. Download the 'Show or hide updates' troubleshooter (KB3073930) from Microsoft: http://download.microsoft.com/download/F/2/2/F22D5FDB-59CD-4275-8C95-1BE17BF70B21/wushowhide.diagcab
2. Download Catalyst versions 14.4 and 15.11.1 from AMD (64bit): http://www2./drivers/beta/amd-catalyst-15.11.1beta-64bit-win10-win8.1-win7-nov14.exe http://www2./drivers/mobile/14-4-mobility-win7-win8-win8.1-64-dd-ccc-whql.exe
3. Download Wagnard's excellent display driver uninstaller (DDU): http://www./DDU/download/DDU%20v15.7.1.0.exe
4. Uninstall your current version of AMD Catalyst entirely using Windows Settings (select 'express uninstall' and 'all versions'). Don't reboot yet.
5. Unpack and run DDU, accept to reboot in safe mode, select AMD graphic driver and click 'clean and restart'.
6. Immediately after reboot/login, open the 'Show or hide updates' troubleshooter, select 'next', 'hide updates' then select the AMD driver update and 'next'. If Windows is faster than you and reinstall the buggy driver before you finish (check in Device Manager), redo steps 4 and 5.
7. Run Catalyst 14.4, select custom install, check only the video driver selection box (UNMARK CCC and everything else) and proceed with the installation. Don't reboot when asked.
8. Run Catalyst 15.11.1, select custom install, check only the Catalyst Control Center box (UNMARK the video driver) and continue. Restart Windows when finish. |
