In The New Apartment
When Xiao Lan and Ying Jun entered their new rented apartment , which lay in the north of the city and was far away from the center, they both heard something unusual. The sound was not loud, but it seemed to be from the deepest part of the hell. So sharp and short in time was the sound that both of the couple thought it was just their illusion. It was a grey afternoon in winter. Cold, windy, wet, all brought them uncomfortably depression.
Ying Jun, who was a handson boy,22, told her girlfriend,who was of the same age as him, "Don't be afraid, let me go to find out what it was.First of all, let's take our things into our home." Xiao Lan said nothing ,nodding her head, some of her black hair hanging from her forehead and making her more beautiful. After putting all the things in their room, Ying Jun went out, leaving the beautiful girl alone in the lonely room.
All fell into a scary silence. The whole apartment fell into completely silence. Xiao Lan felt a little tired, and to some extent, she was a little worried about her handsome boyfriend, for it had been a little long since he went out to find what made both them scaried. She took out their electric tea kettle, and wanted to boil some hot water, as they hadn't cleant their new room yet.
Putting the charger into the old outlet, she opened the window. She took a deep breath from the fresh air outside the window. It gave her some time to enjoy the beautiful scene of the city. The city was far away, but still she could see what it was like.The light from the city was bright and made the clouds above orange. She was a beautiful girl,quiet and tender, but when it came to jobs, it was really difficult for such girls find suitable job in the big without showing any pity to anyone. To some extent, in such a forest made or iron and cement, there was a monster which was always trying to swallow all, including your health and youth. No matter you worked hard or not, the economic cost was rising quickly and pitielessly, leaving both of them very tired. She loved her boyfriend deeply,who promised her to marry her within a year as long as his contract was signed with his new customer. What he promised gave her enough bravery to leave her comfortable home and parents and live with him. She thought she would return to her parents some day, with her future husband.
But why wasn't he back after he went out for so long? Where had he gone? She began to worry about her boyfriend.There must be something wrong in the dark apartment. It was too quiet. There seemed nobody else on their floor, or even in the whole house. She could feel her heart beating fast when suddenly she “felt”someone running past their new room in the hallway. “Who’s there?”She asked, or to some extent”shouted”.Nobody replied her, leaving her tremble. She asked again, “Who’s there? Is that you, Jun? Ying Jun?”But again, only silence answered her.
She could stand the silence and loneliness any more, and decided to look for Ying Jun, and at the same time, check who had made her tremble just now.
She was sure that she had saw someone, though not clearly, runnning past. Is it a ghost？ Such feeling takes her heart,making her tremble. But when she walked back into her room, what she saw was only darkness. She clapped with horror. With poor light, she could see what the floor was like.There was six rooms on their floor, three facing north and the other three facing south.
" Where are you? " She shouted with twin voice, Feeling she was so poor， alone in the dark house.
