(1)临时性和紧迫性;
(2)非正式性;
(1)日期:位置在便条的右上角;
(2)称谓:顶格写,后面用逗号;
(3)正文:便条的主要组成部分,一般安排一段或两段;

1. I’m writing to show you our gratitude for taking good care of my pet dog while we were on holiday.
2. Last Saturday, when I turned to you for help, you agreed without hesitation.
3. When I got home yesterday, I found my pet dog was alive and kicking.
4. I owe these to your hard work.
5. You not only saved us some money, but also helped us avoid trouble while we were away.
6. Your kind help is very much appreciated.
7. I would be very delighted if you could come to dinner with my family.
8. Please accept my sincere thanks and invitation, and I am looking forward to your coming.

运用的高级词汇和表达有gratitude, without hesitation, alive and kicking, owe…to…, avoid, appreciate, moreover及delighted等;句式有while, when引导的时间状语从句及if引导的条件虚拟句等。
Getting home yesterday, I found my pet dog was alive and kicking.
②处为not only…but also… Not only did you save us some money, but also you helped us avoid trouble while we were away.

Dear Mr. Liu,
I take great pleasure in recommending David, an exchange student from London, to you as the compere of the New Year’s party. First of all, David is crazy about traditional Chinese cultures; not only his oral English but also his Chinese is very fluent, which is one of his advantages. Secondly, he has a good sense of team spirit, which makes him popular among the students. In addition, he is versatile and energetic, which helps him make an outstanding compere. I’m convinced that he will do the job well. Therefore, I can recommend David as an ideal candidate you need.
Yours,
Wang Lin
