2015 The Beth Chatto Education Trust Charity launched 贝斯·查特教育慈善基金成立  贝斯·查特，Beth Chatto（OBE），1923年6月27日出生，是英国的一名女性园艺家、作家，因在英国苏塞克斯郡Elmstead市集附近建造了Beth Chatto花园而闻名于世。
贝斯·查特的父母都是园艺爱好者。她成年后做过教师，1943年，嫁给安德鲁·查特，Andrew Chatto。贝斯是一位长寿的园艺家，现年95岁高龄，一生痴迷于园艺事业，热爱植物，她对于今天的园艺植物应用的影响力很大。
职业生涯缘起于1960年，丈夫安德鲁退休后，查特家族在一处废弃的荒地上建造了新家，这块地属于查特果园农场的一部分。该地块建造花园来说，条件不算好，年降雨量很少，但后来安德鲁对植物进行了适应性的研究利用之后，情况发生了好转。
贝斯依据专业知识，因地制宜，筛选出了具备不同适应性的花园植物。
50年代末，贝斯开始参加了花卉俱乐部运动（the Flower Club movement），在这里贝斯开始参加了一些专业讲座和插花艺术演示。
1967年，花卉俱乐部成员对于新异花卉普遍有着浓厚的兴趣，大家对于植物的需求促使了其开展苗圃订购经营的商业化活动。
1975年1月份，参加英国皇家园艺学会在威斯特敏斯特大厅举办的“新优植物”展，获得银奖并被第一个进行新闻报道。
1977年起，贝斯查特和她的植物展品连续10年获得了切尔西花展年度金奖。
1978年，贝斯查特出版了第一本书《旱地花园》（The Dry Garden）。
此后，她连续出版了8本专业书籍，曾在英国、美国、加拿大、澳大利亚、荷兰和德国进行过专业讲座，也为包括网络在内的媒体撰写专业文章。
贝斯一直在自己的花园里每天坚持工作，指导她的团队，分享这份对于园艺事业的热爱与其专业知识。
她的园艺和写作运用“因地制宜选择植物”这一朴素的基本原则（the principle of the right plant for the right place），源自于她的丈夫安德鲁·查特对于花园植物的起源的研究。  贝斯·查特和已故的园艺巨匠克里斯朵夫·劳埃德（下图）都是好朋友。 |
