这类期刊主要是自引或互引率过高，短时间内影响因子暴增，就可能被取消某年或某几年影响因子，这就叫做被镇压。如果被镇压后，自引率问题还是解决不了，就可能被T出SCI库；如果好好改进，影响因子可能会恢复。 同样，今年JCR也列出了一些镇压期刊，其中不乏中国期刊，尤其特别点名了由SpringerNature与四川大学华西口腔医学院以及中国肌肉骨骼研究学会合作主办的期刊《Bone Research》。
