题目如下：
Directions：
Write an essay of 160-200 words based on the picture below. In your essay, you should：
1) describe the pictures briefly,
2) interpret the meaning, and
3) give your comments.
You should write neatly on the ANSWER SHEET.
关于作文字数要求
题目的字数要求是160-200个单词。
但张老师始终建议大家写190-200单词。
160个单词的英语文章，确实很难进行充分的论述，无形之中已经降低了分数。
漫画英语作文，究竟该写什么？
题目事实上已经给了我们3个要求：
1.describe the pictures briefly：简要地描述图画
关键在于“简要”二字，大家无需大段地进行描述。
因此，在描述图画时，大家应尽量做到如下几点：
1. 写1句话即可
2. 图里有什么说什么
3. 只描述图里面的数据和事实（facts），不做任何评论
针对上面的题目，我们可以将漫画描述如下：
The picture shows a student's selection of courses betweenthose challenging but with new knowledge and stressing creativity and those with less workloads and easily passed with high grades. （29个单词）
2. interpret the meaning：解释图画所传达的现象
这是要求我们推测漫画中，描述的是何种社会现象。因此，我们也只需要一句话把漫画里面描绘的社会现象表达出来即可
针对上题，我们可以将该句写作如下：
It is noticeable thatcollege students are facing a dilemma of taking tough or easy courses. (16个单词）
3. give your comments：对图画中传达的现象进行评论。
这一部分，才是考研英语作文的重头戏。
题目只要求大家对现象进行comment。那么何为 comment? 它可以是解释原因、描述导致的问题、给出解决方法、比较不同的选项、描述优缺点....等等。只要是围绕现象进行阐述，就都属于comment的范畴。
因此，这一部分的写作也是比较灵活的一部分。需要大家结合题目本身的信息，综合分析究竟怎样comment才最有利。
就上述题目而言，我们可以得出学生选课面临两个选择：
- 选择较难的课程，但是可能会得分低
- 选择轻松的课程，作业少，且得分高
既然是要在2个选项中做出选择，自然要比较2个选择的优缺点，才能做错判断。因此，我们的comment就可以从比较优缺点的角度进行展开。具体可以写作如下：
选择较难课程的优点：
On the one hand, there are advantages to signing up harder courses. Firstly, students will gain academically because difficult courses usually mean profound knowledge, considerable expertise and exposure to well-known professors. Secondly, tough courses can help students learn how to cope with failure. Those who have never attempted something difficult may not have the coping skills necessary when they confront real difficulties in the future. （65个单词）
选择较容易课程的优点：
On the other hand, scores play significant roles in student evaluation. For example, scholarships from both the government or enterprises are granted based on students' academic performance, and graduate school offers or job offers are more likely to be issued to those who have achieved a higher GPA. As a result, an increasing number of students tend to select courses that can definitely ensure good grades. (66个单词）
段落结构的2种写作方法
上述两个段落，事实上已经给了我们写作段落的2种方法：
1.当有很多idea来支撑中心句时，可以采用如下结构：
- 中心句
- Firstly，第一个理由
- 举例支撑第一个理由
- Secondly，第二个理由
- 举例支撑第二个理由
2.当只有一个中心句，难以找到理由支撑时，可以采用如下结构：

关于作文的整体结构
一篇英语作文，应该至少具备如下完整的结构：
- 开头段（Introduction）
- 中间段1 (Body paragraph 1)
- 中间段2 (Body paragraph 2
- 结尾段 (Conclusion)
对于上述考研英语漫画作文，我们可以将上述文章结构分解如下：
1. 开头段：2句话（约40个单词）
第1句话：描述漫画；
第2句话：引出漫画传达的社会现象
2. 中间段1和中间段2（每段约70个单词）
结合题目，综合确定要进行评论的两个方面，分别各写一段话。
3. 结尾段：1句话，给出个人的观点。
参考例文
综合上面的分析，我们将整篇文章写作如下：
The picture shows a student's selection of courses between those challenging but with new knowledge and stressing creativity and those with less workloads and easily passed with high grades. It is noticeable that college students are facing a dilemma of taking tough or easy courses.
On the one hand, there are advantages to signing up harder courses. Firstly, students will gain academically because difficult courses usually mean profound knowledge, considerable expertise and exposure to well-known professors. 上述文章中并没有使用高深的词汇，但是却都是与写作话题紧密相关的词汇（topic-related vocabulary）。而这样的词汇，才是作文中真正需要的词汇。
