拉斐尔逝世时年仅37岁，但由于他勤勉的创作，给世人留下了300多幅珍贵的艺术作品。拉斐尔的作品博采众家之长，形成了自己独特的风格，是手法主义的代表人物，也代表了当时人们最崇尚的审美趣味，成为后世古典主义者不可企及的典范。
The Three Graces,1504-1505
拉斐尔代表作有油画《西斯廷圣母》、壁画《雅典学院》等。拉斐尔潜心研究各画派大师的艺术特点，并认真领悟，博采众长，尤其是达芬奇的构图技法和米开朗基罗的人体表现及雄强风格，最后形成了其独具古典精神的秀美、圆润、柔和的风格，成为和达芬奇、米开朗基罗鼎足而立的文艺复兴三杰。

拉斐尔所绘画的圣母画像都以母性的温柔以及青春健美，体现了人文主义思想。其中最有名的是《安西帝圣母》、《草地上的圣母》和《佛利诺的圣母》。1513年-1514年绘画的大型油画《西斯廷圣母》，由圣母和圣徒组成的三角形构图，庄重均衡，圣母和耶稣表现了母爱的伟大。另外，《椅上圣母子》、《阿尔巴圣母》都是拉斐尔完美无瑕的作品。
